Job Purpose

Maximise the employability and career progression value in the student and learners’ experience

Reporting to one of the team’s Pro Bono Managers, the role will support the expansion of pro bono provision across all BPP Schools. It will involve designing and delivering pro bono and volunteering opportunities for BPP’s non law students, as well as being the point of contact for relevant volunteers, staff and external organisations who support our work.  The successful candidate will work closely with the Pro Bono Managers, the Heads of Pro Bono and the Pro Bono Co-ordinator. 

What you’ll be doing

·  Designing and delivering initiatives to promote pro bono and volunteering in other BPP Schools. 
·  Identifying 'Pro Bono and Volunteering Champions' in each school, who will advocate the pro bono and volunteering programmes and support engagement from students and learners;
·  Recruiting and training all non-law student volunteers to their relevant pro bono and/or volunteering programme;
· Attending non-law programme inductions and events to promote pro bono and volunteering initiatives;
·  Working with faculty across BPP schools to identify where student or learners have potential skills or experience gaps that could be supported by pro bono or volunteering.
· Connecting with BPP clients and employers to identify potential partnerships that could support pro bono outreach programmes;
· Recruiting BPP staff across schools to act as mentors and/or supervisors for pro bono outreach programmes;
·  Being the point of contact for all non-law pro bono volunteers, Pro Bono champions and non-law school supporting staff.
· Where relevant, to work with Student Directors appointed to assist in the running the projects; 
·  Promoting the culture and ethic of pro bono among the students; 
· Attending conferences and committee meetings in order to exchange ideas within the pro bono community;
·  Undertaking any other duties related to the post.

What we're looking for

• Ideally educated to degree-level, however applications from candidates with appropriate and relevant work experience or other equivalent qualifications will also be considered
• Recognised professional qualification in learning and teaching/higher education
• Experience of working in a professional organisation or HE setting
• Experience in a customer/client facing role
• Experience of university student services and/or pro bono in the provision of professional services
• Experience of managing projects or teams
• Experience of working across different teams with a range of stakeholders
• Experience of managing student data
• Strong commitment to the pro bono ethic
• An ability to be resilient, working on own initiative & under pressure to meet deadlines
• Ability to build respectful relationships with a range of senior leaders and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and networking skills, that enable you to gain trust and establish credibility with learners, staff and clients at all levels.
• Excellent organisation, problem solving and time management skills, with an ability to engage a broad and diverse range of stakeholder groups.
• Ability to research and convey complex information to a variety of audiences in a variety of formats (e.g., presentations, reports, data analysis).
